Bestial Burst. Profundus, hailing from Espoo, Finland, existed only briefly in the late 1990s, yet burned with an intensely black flame. Their sole demo from 1998 remains a hidden gem among those in the know, revered for its piercingly raw yet powerful sound - capturing both the cold and melancholic essence of true northern black metal.
Despite their short lifespan, the band’s songwriting stood far above the typical demo level, showcasing a maturity and atmosphere rarely heard from such young acts.
This release includes all original artwork, along with a lengthy interview courtesy of the awesome Macabre Overdose zine, and faithfully restored covers and layout. Members would later surface in bands such as Satanic Torment, Evoked Curse, and Azazel.
A true delicacy unearthed for those who crave black metal in its purest form: raw, cold, triumphant, from the very underground.
